A wonderful cast of believable characters in a well-written and engrossing story. Full of great twists and turns. The only reason I give this book 3 stars and not 5 is because of the four or five truly unnecessary sexual references which prevent me recommending a good read to my maiden aunt. It's not an 'erotic' nor 'adult' novel, so this spooed it a little for me.Product details

I bought this book initially because I am an Hellenophile and it is set in Crete. I loved the descriptions of an ex-pat community, the characters are utterly believable and I liked the fact that they all have their faults. It’s an easy to read holiday book, funny and endearing and I couldn’t wait to find out what happened to all the characters. Great for capturing that holiday mood even in rainy Britain.

So very predictable..! If I wanted a humdrum review of high hopes, foreseeable disasters and a teenage daughter, I'd buy my local newspaper - even though the setting is described as idyllic.
A lovely romp filled with intrigue set in Crete with believable characters. Lovely for a nostalgic read about Crete and it will give you an appetite to visit the area.
